Dr. Louis Corne started practice in Opelousas, Louisiana in 2006. He is active in all aspects of general surgery.
A native of St. Martinsville, Louisiana, Dr. Corne graduated cum laude from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette where he majored in biology and Chemistry. He earned his medical degree in 1998 from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Dr. Corne completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. During his training he received the 2001 Resident Teaching Award in the Department of Surgery and placed highly in the American College of Surgeons laparoscopic skills competition.
Dr. Corne has special interests in laparoscopic, endocrine, vascular access for hemodialysis, intensive care, trauma surgery, and breast surgery. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Corne is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Medical Association, and Parkland Surgical Society.
